City Secretary: Jakarta Remains as Economic and Cultural Center

City Secretary, Joko Agus Setyono attended the night of Jakarta's 496th anniversary at the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2023. He said, the city at the age of 496 will remain the center of the economy, culture, economy, and the meeting point of ethnic groups in Indonesia until world.

He revealed the anniversary celebration is a special moment to reflect on the historical achievements and future potential of Jakarta. Carrying the theme 'Jakarta, Become a Work for the Archipelago' at this year's anniversary, shows Jakarta's optimism in optimizing all of its resources.

"Also realizing community welfare and sustainable development, becoming a barometer for the archipelago, as well as a trigger for progress for other regions in Indonesia," he expressed, Thursday (6/22).

He hoped that PT JIExpo could advance the industry, especially the exhibition, trade, and tourism industries in a bid to strengthen the domestic economy through holding the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran.

Since 1968, the Jakarta Fair has provided a space to celebrate the progress of Jakarta as well as being one of the iconic exhibition venues featuring a variety of quality products, entertainment, and recreational destinations.

The presence of Jakarta Fair provides a distinctive atmosphere for celebrating Jakarta's anniversary as well as a forum for optimizing the potential of local products, opening up entrepreneurial opportunities for the community, and empowering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

"This momentum means the hope to make Jakarta a global and international-scale city in the field of service economy," he explained.

He added the celebration of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran is a manifestation of the spirit of synergy between the Jakarta Provincial Government and PT JIExpo in presenting an exhibition of various superior products for the public, both living and visiting Jakarta.

"Once again I express my appreciation to all levels of PT JIExpo as the organizing partner, sponsors, event supporters, as well as domestic and foreign participants who participated in the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2023," he said.
